NO ACCOUNTING FOR FEDERAL RESERVE

the article by William Greider regarding the Federal Reserve (March 15). Truly, the Federal Reserve is not part of our government
as the name applies, nor are there reserves to back up our money. The Federal Reserve is a super, master bank of banks and
acts as a shadow government run my an unelected official.
Presidents come and go,
and all seem to be afraid of counteracting the Federal Reserve. Today interest rates are the major tool the Federal Reserve uses
to control economic events. * It is very fine-tuned system that has become very frail in controlling our economy-due
to all the concentration put on this approach alone.
The public still stands
in awe of this bank of banks and shies away from asking for an accounting of what it does. We have a statistical
prosperity but hidden inside of it is a silent depression for many.
* Who else can print paper and call it money and
then charge an interest rate on the "paper money".
FREE TRADE POLICIES WEAKEN AMERICA

Regarding the July 6 editorial
"Cut back on sanctions": How long is The Plain Dealer going to pass on the facade of free trade? Free trade is based on moving
production from place to place based on the lowest common denominator of cheaper and cheaper labor. It is not based on trading
products per se.
When much of our added value
economy is moved outside the United States, what will take its place in supporting our entitlement culture and society? The
real issue of our times is to admit that free trade is a complete disaster and that we must bring back our factories and real
jobs this country. It is time to bring back the American Dream as we once knew it.

| The American Dream is put on Hold |
Gilbran following the other pundits of old
said, ...pity the nation that does not grow or make its own products for that nation will be under the power of the
nation that does.....
Today, Rep.
Marcy Kaptur agrees....our basic sovereignty is threatened.... the World Trade Organization represents secret
unaccountable bureaucracy....our precious sovereignty is eroding.... We create common enemies in the process...stirring
up things that were dormant...making common enemies all at one time.
Manuel Castell who has
written many books of Globalism, says when businesses move constantly from one local to another, the social cost and finally
the economic costs ends up with burnt-out societies and eventually burnt-out production too. When societies separate investments
and production, they enter into a global casino where anything goes. So called Free Trade is not free at all. It takes tariffs
off products and put them on workers instead. The worker becomes the commodity to be traded. We actually have a new
slave trade with a new wage slave trade.

(Congressman Tom Sawyer of Ohio was defeated for the first time since 1975 because
of his stand for unfair trade, the destruction of high paid production jobs in the USA and the betrayal of the American worker
in general.---Now is the time to vote out all the others in Congresss that did the same.)
Rep. Tom Sawyer was defeated because he betrayed the American
worker by supporting the NAFTA and GATT agreements. All others in Congress who voted for this economic Pearl Harbor attack
on the American worker should be ousted from office. (Rep. Dennis Kucinich is a sure winner because of tis early stand
against unfair trade.) After almost 10 years of failure, NAFTA must go.
President Bill Clinton promised us many new jobs when NAFTA
was passed in 1993. What happened? From aobut 1956 to 1993, about 2,000 U.S. Factories moved to Mexico. Since NAFTA
was passed in 1993, that number doubled to 4,000. Overall about 10,000 U.S. factories have moved outside the United States
under both trade agreements. This is not trade. Ultimately it was the American worker, who was traded away as just another
commodity to compete with the wage slaves of the world. The dignity of the American worker was lost. Soon after NAFTA
was passed, Clinton gave Mexico $20 billion. In the end , American workers not only lost their jobs, but as taxpayers, they
paid money to send their jobs away. Even now, free traders call for more of the same. The trade deficit keeps breaking
records, and some studies show that these deficits add up to the equivalent of an $80,000 home for every American family.
These sad facts are finally registering in the minds of the American workers. Those is government who betrayed the American
worker must go. The Republicans will now likely lost the House because of this betrayal. (2002)
